And the winner is.. Android OS!

News Android OS Top iOS RIM Nokia

According to Gartner, an information technology research and advisory firm headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, Android OS now makes up 43.4% of all smartphone sales. This is quite a jump from last year’s 17.2% figure. Apple currently now has 18.2% which has a more modest jump from 14.1 from last year.

Bad news for Symbian, however. Last year they were at 40.9% but now they are down to 22.1%, but I think this was expected since the Nokia / Microsoft partnership and the “Platform Is Burning” letter. That only affected the Symbian results and not Nokia phone sales to which they are still on top with 22.8%.
